Visitors with reduced mobility
Description
The château du Haut-Kœnigsbourg has been upgrading its facilities and events programme for disabled visitors over the past few years and wishes to offer additional services in this field. Since 2009, Haut-Kœnigsbourg has a permanent audiovisual interpretative centre. Principally aimed at persons with reduced mobility, this facility is enabled visitors to explore the château by means of a trilingual virtual film. This film can be tailored to cater to varying levels of understanding with regard to the information it presents, in line with visitors’ age or disability type. In vision signing and trilingual subtitling are also available. Up to 18 people, including 7 wheelchair users, can view the presentations being shown at any one time. The new centre is open 6 days out of 7 and will also be used for educational purposes one day a week, when specially-tailored heritage workshops will be run. You find all practical information in download. The Conseil Général du Bas-Rhin has invested nearly 500,000 € in the construction of this facility. Work began on February 16th, 2009
