Visitors with reduced mobility

The Haut-Koenigsbourg is a mountain fortress, constructed at a time when defending inhabitants against a possible enemy was considered more important than making the site accessible to all. There are numerous obstacles around the tour circuit, including some 300 steps.

However, from the carpark to the lower courtyard, the grounds are accessible to visitors in wheelchairs if accompanied by a helper. Guided tours are available in this area for visitors with reduced mobility.
