Thanks to the restoration of the château du Haut-Koenigsbourg at the beginning of the 20th century, students have a ready-made teaching tool which will enable them to better understand life in a medieval mountain fortress. The heritage workshop programme is divided between time spent visiting the castle and more 'in-depth' and 'hands-on' activities in the on-site classroom. This workshop will give children the chance to find out all about the clothes worn in medieval times. How did nobles and peasants dress? How were clothes put together? What differences were there between boys' and girls' clothing? These are some of the questions to which the students will find an answer in this workshop. This will be followed by a special game where the sense of touch is all-important, helping students explore the different materials out of which different outfits were made.
