Workshop for school or educational groups "Stained glass"

Vitrail de la chapelle du château du Haut-Koenigsbourg © Jean-Luc Stadler - Haut-Koenigsbourg castle, Alsace, France

Tour description

Thanks to the restoration of the château du Haut-Koenigsbourg at the beginning of the 20th century, students have a ready-made teaching tool which will enable them to better understand life in a medieval mountain fortress. The heritage workshop programme is divided between time spent visiting the castle and more 'in-depth' and 'hands-on' activities in the on-site classroom.

Following a thematic tour of the château in which you will find out all about the history and uses of stained glass, the workshop will move to the classroom, where you will look at stained glass-making techniques.

A story-telling session will whisk you back in time to discover the history of stained glass, of travel and of everyday life in the Middle Ages. To finish off the workshop, you're invited to get creative yourself, taking as your inspiration the magical world of the story you've just heard.

Hours of departure are defined during the reservation.
