What you need to know


The castle's accessibility

  • The site is surrounded by 150 free parking spaces, coach parks and 6 parking spaces reserved for people with disabilities (3 at present, during the works).
  • From the car park, access to the castle is via a slightly uphill 300 m earth track.
  • The outside areas, from the car park to the lower courtyard, are accessible to wheelchair users and their helpers.
  • There are steps to access the ticket desk. It is inaccessible to unaccompanied wheelchair users.
  • The tour circuit includes 300 steps of different heights and orientations. The castle is distributed over 21 levels. The first staircase is at ticket control level. The tour circuit is inaccessible to wheelchair users. 
  • White stripes mark the noses of the most difficult steps.
  • Seating possibilities are located along the tour route.
