These imposing towers were built on the western flank, the only vulnerable side of the fortress. Here, the flat terrain made it possible to set up attackers and artillery, which developed from the end of the 14th century onwards.
The great bastion dominates the plain, and you can enjoy an almost 360° panoramic view. This is another quality of the site that makes it difficult for an enemy to attack in the open.
This platform also allowed surveillance of the trade routes that were important to the medieval economy and daily life in a castle (salt, silver mines, cereals).
