Star-shaped bastion

At the heart of the restoration of Haut-Koenigsbourg castle, the team from Girold Constructions Bois is bringing decades-old wooden structures back to life on the star-shaped Bastion worksite!

With precision and passion, they use traditional techniques such as grafting: a meticulous adjustment in which new wood completes an old piece.
Sometimes, it's thanks to millimetres gained by weight and cables pulled that they straighten an entire framework!
